It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power. ~ Alan Cohen

Bicycle Riding to the Yulong River from Yangshuo, China

I got lost pretty early. Here is a photo from my first wrong turn still in town.

A look at daily life in a small town.

Here's another quick look at dailying living

A beautiful view from the road at the first site of the river.

Can you imagine having hills like these in your backyard?

Look familiar? It's the back side of hill scene in a previous pic

Basketball court in a small village

Happy in Yangshuo

It's amazing that there is just so much to see around every turn

Notice power lines are still making it out here.

Small dirt road through a small village

One thing you may notice is how practically any fertile soil, anywhere, is used as farmland.

Another view from the main dirt road

My trusty bike. Despite many thoughts that she would not make it there and back, she actually did!

A very common sight is seeing herders walking their animals from place to place

More farmland

Small ftuit trees along the road.

Amazing peak and a view of the trail

More amazing peaks.

Another view of thet trail

Nice girl that gave me some directions. She, like most in Yangshuo, spoke very good English.

The trail gets thinner... I think I'm lost. I probably shouldn't have gotten directions from a little girl.

Trails are getting very thin and no sign of the river anymore.

In another small village.

I guess they like to farm here.

This whole place is just one big farm!

Ok, I see some water. I think I'm on track. The river is actually straight ahead; maybe 50 meters past this old bridge

Despite not knowing where I am, there are still great views everywhere.

It looks like a grandmother with her granddaughters and friend.

Amazing peaks

Working in the fields

A view from the road!

Ok, now I'm on the right road and back on track. It was pretty much cake from here.
