If you suffer, it is not because things are impermanent. It is because you believe things are permanent. ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Houston, We Have a Problem > Join the Virtual March to Stop Global Warming
by Gary Isse
~ Published: 2006-01-13

In September of 2005, California Governor Arnold Swarzenegger, in a monumental move against the powers that be within his own party, joined hundreds of thousands of concerned citizens in the Virtual March to Stop Global Warming. (1). "Global warming and the pollution and burning of fossil fuels that cause it are threats we see here in California and everywhere around the world. These pollutants blanket the globe, trapping heat and creating the 'greenhouse effect' the warming of the earth’s atmosphere. All of this impacts California’s water supply, public health, agriculture, coastlines, forestry, and much more. We have no choice but to meet this challenge. So, we will mobilize with an aggressive plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions." (2)

Please join Arnold, and the hundreds of thousands of concerned citizens in the Virtual March on Washinton, in their fight to stop Global Warming. Some of you may be asking, "what exactly is this Virtual March and what do I have to do?" The Virtual March is a movement of like-minded people, together marching to announce their commitment and strong desire to stop Global Warming. Because this is a Virtual movement, it means that the "marchers" do not actually leave their own homes. Through the use of computers and the Internet, marchers are able to have their voice heard in the same manner as signing a petition. So, if you believe that Global Warming is a threat to the existence of mankind, than please join the march today!

Are you not convinced that we have a problem? According to thousands of scientists, "We've overloaded the atmosphere with heat- trapping gasses from our cars and factories and power plants. If we don't start fixing the problem - right now - there will be devastating changes to our environment. We will experience extreme temperatures, rises in sea levels, and storms of unimaginable destructive fury. We will make this planet uninhabitable." (3) Imagine the world's oceans rising six feet, imagine Malaria becoming a common disease in the United States, and imagine super powerful hurricanes, surpassing the strength of Katrina, becoming more and more frequent. (3) If you like the sound of this, then by all means, just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. If you don't, then please, act now!
